is a dedicated platform that brings together women leaders in STEM to foster meaningful connections, mentorship, and inspiration. Established with the support of the Henry Luce Foundation, FUSE is organized in cooperation with the STS forum and led by the North American Associates of the STS forum (NAA-STS). Held annually as part of the STS forum, FUSE provides a unique opportunity for women in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics to engage in discussions, share experiences, and expand their networks on a global scale.
Since its inception, FUSE has created a space where established and emerging women leaders can exchange insights, discuss challenges, and celebrate achievements. Through panel discussions, networking sessions, and mentorship opportunities, the gathering amplifies the voices of women in STEM and contributes to increased female participation in high-level science and policy discussions. FUSE also supports travel grants for selected participants, ensuring broader representation and enabling more women scientists to be part of these critical conversations. As a growing tradition within the STS forum, FUSE continues to strengthen its role in advancing gender equity and fostering a more inclusive scientific community.
Please plan to arrive in Kyoto by Friday, October 2nd. The venue can be difficult to access on the day of the event, as it requires multiple transfers from the airports, potential waiting times, and the immigration process. Arriving in Tokyo in the morning or in Osaka around noon on Saturday may make it difficult to attend FUSE. We encourage you to enjoy a calm and comfortable evening at your hotel before joining FUSE and engaging fully in the STS program.
